Long-distance traffic networking of motorway maintenance depotsThe task: The computer networks set up at motorway maintenance depots to deal with emergency calls (see operator workstations for motorway emergency telephones) are to be switched to a certain centre for night operation. Data and voice communication are to be rerouted synchronously to the centre. The solution: Night-time data communication is rerouted to the centre by means of permanent ISDN connections and a sophisticated TCP/IP based telegram traffic logic. Computer controllable components are used for voice communication. These are switched synchronously with the data flow and as required by the telephonists. The telephonist at the centre can thus determine the status of all connected emergency telephones at any time and, with hardly any delay at all, receive calls from emergency telephones of other motorway maintenance depots. |
