Management of despatch of plans for engineers and architects
The task:
In building projects, there exists an extensive interchange of plans, statistics and other important documents among the participants. The site engineer in particular has a large volume of plans in various versions. An accompanying letter is attached to each plan for each participant describing the different tasks and deadlines. The despatch of plans is to be supervised by computer.
The solution:
A system was developed in MS Access minimising the amount of work involved in drawing up the accompanying letters. Definable distribution lists and standard texts are used. As both the plan receipt and despatch dates are controlled in full, any delays are recognised in good time and traceable by means of the plan history which can be printed out at any time (per participant or per plan).
