The task:
A large aviation company was planning the renewal and extension of its engine test stand. This included hardware and
software components for control purposes and data acquisition. In addition to bringing the stand up to state-of-the-art
standard, the objective was to expand the range of engines to be tested.
The solution:
The systems used by the customer at the time of the order had grown over the years in line with the technical requirements
and were therefore technically reasonable but inconsistent. The main recommendation after taking stock was therefore to renew the
system step by step. By laying down a target architecture, a high degree of safety was to be achieved for the migration and integration
of the system components and software.
The system newly developed by caitec was first installed parallel to the existing system, thus enabling a gradual takeover of the
engines to be tested into the new system, without disturbing the testing procedure too much.
